I-GUIDE relies on official EOIR statistics but processes them with its own methodology, showing breakdowns that are closer to actual court practice than the summary official tables.
How we calculate. We count only the lead respondent: a family of five is one decision, not five. Approval is any protection from removal granted by the judge: asylum, withholding of removal, CAT or other relief (TPS does not count). The approval rate is approved ÷ (approved + denied); in absentia removals, denials without a hearing, and closed or terminated cases are not included.
